Christmas Tree Lighting

Islandia Village residents took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to attend the village’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony, which took place on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Those in attendance had the opportunity to see the decked-out sleigh in front of Village Hall, receive candy canes from Mrs. Claus and get their pictures taken with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the “elves”.

Joe the Singing Bus Driver led the crowd in singing holiday favorites. After that, Mayor Allan M. Dorman and members of the Village Board joined together in the annual lighting of the Christmas tree. Santa Claus later arrived on a fire truck, courtesy of the Central Islip Fire Department, and gave out presents to the good little boys and girls of Islandia.
