On July 11, Allan M. Dorman, Mayor, Village of Islandia, joined representatives from Burlington Stores to celebrate the grand opening of the national retailer’s newest location at 1730 Veterans Memorial Highway. The new store, which occupies a portion of the former Stop & Shop site that closed in 2022, marks an important step in the revitalization of this shopping center.
The first 100 customers aged 18 and over received a $10 bonus card to use toward their purchase. Burlington also demonstrated its commitment to the community by donating $5,000 to Andrew T. Morrow Elementary School through the national nonprofit AdoptAClassroom.org. The funds will help provide students with much-needed classroom supplies.
The new Islandia Burlington features a redesigned 30,000 square-foot store layout and the retailer’s latest branding: “Deals. Brands. WOW!” The modernized layout is part of Burlington’s continued efforts to offer customers a more convenient and enjoyable shopping experience.
Burlington Stores offers an extensive selection of discounted merchandise, including apparel for men, women, and children, as well as footwear, beauty products, baby items, accessories, toys, home décor, and more.
“This shopping center had been underutilized for years,” Mayor Dorman said. “Welcoming a national retailer like Burlington helps breathe new life into the area. It not only offers our residents a wider selection of shopping options, but also signals positive economic growth for our Village.”
