More than 1,000 residents came out to celebrate the Village of Islandia’s 40th anniversary during its 20th Annual BBQ, which took place at Memorial Recreational Field on July 19.
The theme for the BBQ was “Red, White & Blue,” as residents came to the event wearing the colors of the U.S.A. in celebration of the nation’s 249th birthday. Those in attendance enjoyed delicious food, various fun activities and the traditional blueberry pie eating contest.
