Connetquot River State Park Preserve

The state park maintains 3,473 acres of land and water for the protection and propagation of game birds, fish and animals. Deer and waterfowl are numerous, rare nesting birds, including the osprey, are present and there are numerous rare plants, such as trailing arbutus and pyxie moss in their natural habitats. The preserve also has 50 miles of hiking, horseback riding, cross-country ski and nature trails, as well as fishing (by permit only) on the Connetquot River. Visit Website


Lakeland County Park

This fully accessible Suffolk County Parks facility, designed for the disabled and their families, includes a nature trail-boardwalk over the head-waters of the Connetquot River, affording unique views of wetland vegetation, waterfowl and fish. War Veterans Memorial

The new war veterans memorial was unveiled in November of 2008. It was built at the Veterans Memorial Triangle at Old Nichols Road and Johnson Avenue.


First Responders Ball Field

Opened on June 2nd, 2018, the First Responders Recreational Ball Field is a state-of-the-art ball field that features a concession stand, memorial and a walking path with exercise stations. The field is dedicated to the brave first responders from the Village of Islandia who died during the 9-11 attacks. The ball field is the site of village events, including the annual barbecue, fall festival and easter egg roll, as well as outdoor concerts, movie nights, children’s playground and gazebo.
