On November 16, Allan M. Dorman, Mayor, Village of Islandia, attended the grand opening of Mugi Sushi Hibachi & Bar, located at 1708 Veterans Memorial Highway in Islandia. The mayor joined village officials and Mugi’s co-owners and managers in a ribbon cutting ceremony. The celebration also featured a buffet lunch for the guests and music.

Construction began on the 5,000-square-foot restaurant in July 2014 and opened in late October 2014. The restaurant section seats 150 people, and features six hibachi tables that can seat up to 75 people per table. Menu items include soups, salads, sushi and sashimi, hibachi lunch and dinner specials and more. In addition, the restaurant is available for private parties.
