Play ball! The Village of Islandia has a recreational ball field that is available for rent to men’s and women’s leagues for baseball and softball games, respectively. When the ball field is not being used, residents can request to use the field for themselves for small gatherings if there is open play availability.
The ball field is complete with a concession stand, bleachers for spectators, and a park that includes a walking path with exercise stations. In addition to the state-of-the-art ballfield, there is a 9/11 memorial honoring those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Next to the ballfield, there is a gazebo in the center of the park that can be reserved by residents for small gatherings. In the past, the gazebo has been used for weddings, renewals of vows, and other small ceremonies. Residents can use the area within the park for intimate family get-togethers when the park is not in use.
The recreational ball field is located across from the Village of Islandia Town Hall on 1121 Old Nichols Road.
